WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT SENATE BILL 2
As California sheriff's have placed restrictions on where a CCW permit holder cannot carry, there have been
restrictions from your issuing authority and other laws which remain in effect; such as but not
limited to schools, courts, most government buildings, legislative buildings or meetings, federal buildings,
places where it is posted as to no weapons or firearms, where metal detectors are located (including hospitals),
Cal Expo grounds, and many more restrictions. Those laws remain in effect, but below is what you need to be
concerned about.
SENATE BILL 2 "SENSITIVE AREAS" laws where you cannot lawfully carry (including
parking lots of such areas):
Stadiums or arenas
Museums
Playgrounds
Parks - local and state (does not include national parks or federal lands). No federal buildings either
Libraries
Zoos
Casinos
Fish and Wildlife refuges
Bars AND restaurants that serve alcohol for on site consumption
Anywhere where a "no weapons" sign is posted.
NOTE - These laws include parking lots of such facilities (the weapon must be unloaded and in a
secure locking container prior to entering any parking lot which connects to these areas).
